Instagram Reels to AI Prompt
Describe the framing, light, action and transitions in a Reel, then turn those observations into editable prompts for your own short video.
Direct Instagram URL analysis is not currently supported. Follow the manual steps below, or use a YouTube link if the same reference is available there.
How to turn an Instagram Reel into prompts
1. Separate the shots
Watch the reference once for the overall sequence, then again for cuts. Give each shot one sentence describing what visibly happens. Treat a cut between scenes separately from movement within a shot.
2. Record the camera and light
Note whether the camera is still, moving closer, tracking sideways or changing height. Describe the visible direction and softness of the light. Avoid inventing lens measurements that you cannot verify.
3. Write a prompt for each shot
Combine the subject, one action, framing, camera movement, environment and lighting. Keep recurring subject details consistent. Select the vertical aspect ratio in your generation tool.
4. Adapt and compare
Change the subject or setting for your project. Generate a short test, compare the action and framing with your intention, and revise one variable at a time. Plan transitions in your editor when they need precise timing.
